About this listing

Home Team Energy Company is listed on Top Solar Services as a solar contractor serving Brookfield, Wisconsin. The 82 verified reviews on this page reflects real client experiences. Use the information on this page — the verified review count, sub-ratings on quality, schedule, cost, and willingness-to-refer, the company's services and pricing snapshot, and the contact details — alongside your own due diligence on licensing and insurance before requesting a quote.

Solar contractors in this category should carry a current state contractor license, $1M+ general liability and workers' compensation insurance, and verified reviews from recent projects in your area.

In Wisconsin, solar contractors are typically licensed at the state level for electrical or general construction work, and the most-cited credentials homeowners check on this page are NABCEP certification, manufacturer training (Tesla, Enphase, SolarEdge), and verified workers' compensation coverage. Confirm Home Team Energy Company's state contractor license number with your Wisconsin licensing board, verify any NABCEP credentials at nabcep.org, and request proof of general liability and workers' compensation insurance certificates that name your project address before signing a contract. For larger projects, ask for two or three references from recently completed installs of similar size and call them about quality, schedule, and warranty service experience.

What to expect from this contractor

Typical project timeline. Most residential installs run 8–14 weeks end to end: about a week for the site survey and design, 2–6 weeks waiting on permits from the local Authority Having Jurisdiction, one to three days of physical installation, then 2–5 weeks for inspection and utility permission to operate. The panels go up fast; the paperwork is what sets the schedule. Ask Home Team Energy Company for the specific permitting turnaround in Brookfield, because local inspection backlogs are the single most common source of schedule slippage and vary widely between neighboring jurisdictions.

What the quote process looks like. A serious solar installation quote is delivered in writing after a site assessment — not as a verbal number on a first phone call. Expect a written proposal with an itemized bill of materials (panel and inverter make and model), a production estimate modeled in PVWatts, Aurora, or Helioscope showing shading and tilt assumptions, the full price before and after any incentives, and financing terms disclosed separately from the equipment price. Get at least three comparable written proposals so you are comparing equipment and scope rather than sales pressure, and be wary of any bid that expires within 24 hours or requires more than 10% down before work begins.

Credentials to confirm. Before signing, verify the state contractor license number with the Wisconsin licensing board, confirm any NABCEP certification directly at nabcep.org, and request certificates of general liability and workers' compensation insurance that name your project address. A contractor who hesitates to produce these documents has told you what you need to know.

How warranty service works. Three separate warranties apply: the panel manufacturer's product and performance warranty (typically 25 years), the inverter warranty (10–25 years depending on platform), and the contractor's own workmanship warranty covering labor and roof penetrations. Only the last one depends on Home Team Energy Company remaining in business, which is why a company's track record in Brookfield matters as much as the warranty length on paper. Confirm in writing who to call for a service claim, what the response window is, and whether the workmanship warranty transfers if you sell the home.

Local solar market context: Wisconsin

Rates, costs, and payback. Solar economics in Brookfield are driven primarily by your current electricity rate, your annual kWh usage, available roof area and orientation, and local utility export policy. Installed residential pricing across most US markets runs $2.30–$3.20 per watt before incentives, with smaller systems at the upper end because fixed permitting and mobilization costs spread across fewer watts.

Incentives available in 2026. The federal Section 25D residential tax credit expired on December 31, 2025, so homeowners purchasing a system outright no longer claim the 30% credit. Section 48E remains available for business-owned and third-party-owned systems, making lease and power-purchase-agreement structures more competitive than they were previously. State, utility, and municipal programs vary considerably — ask Home Team Energy Company which programs you currently qualify for and confirm each one independently before signing.

What to verify locally. Ask about the net metering or net billing tariff your utility will place you on, the permitting turnaround for your jurisdiction, and whether any property-tax or sales-tax exemption applies to the added home value. These three answers determine your payback period more than panel brand selection does.

  4. What is the length and scope of your workmanship warranty, and does it transfer to a future homeowner?

Had a great experience with Home Team Energy Company installing solar panels. The whole process was easy and well organized, and communication was solid from start to finish. There was no pressure during the entire process (most of the rest of the installers in the are were very pushy or didn't respond to communications in a timely manner).

Ryan and his crew were awesome. The panels were installed during the coldest stretch of the year, but that didn't stop the guys from Home Team from completing the project. It was impressive (and surprising) to see everything installed in only 2 days.

The install looks clean and professional, and they made sure everything was working and explained before wrapping up. Overall, really happy with the work and the experience.

After researching over a dozen solar installers, I chose Home Team Energy—and I’m glad I did. They were by far the most honest and transparent team I spoke with. They took the time to walk me through every aspect of the system, including how net metering works with WE Energies, which was a huge help.

One thing that really stood out was their advice around battery storage. Rather than upselling me, they explained why a battery wouldn’t improve the ROI of the system given how net metering works locally. That kind of integrity is rare.

Being a local company gave them an edge in navigating the utility setup, and their white-glove service meant they handled everything—from permitting to installation to commissioning—with professionalism and care. While the install took a bit longer due to coordination with other home projects, they still completed and commissioned the system ahead of their original commitment.

I would, without hesitation, recommend Home Team Energy to anyone considering solar.

Contractors are often tough to deal with, but I can’t say enough good things about my experience with Home Team Energy.

Sales & Proposal:
Having worked for a competitor solar company one summer, I saw firsthand all the fraudulent sales tactics and inflated pricing, not just for equipment, but also for finance fees and interest. That experience turned me off to solar for years. Ryan’s honest, straightforward, and significantly more cost-effective proposal is what finally got me on board. He even provided a detailed spreadsheet showing how much WE Energies has raised its rates year after year, between 6% and 10% annually over nearly the past decade. Seeing that trend really drove home how valuable this system will be long-term.

Installation & Management:
The electricians, installers, and management team were true professionals. They walked me through every step, answered all my questions, and made sure I understood the process. The installation itself was just as impressive, the electricians never rushed, instead taking the time to make the system blend seamlessly into my home. Communication was clear and consistent from start to finish.

Equipment
I went with Enphase IQ8X Microinverters paired with REC460A Pure-RX panels. The Enphase app is excellent, and the all-black panels look great on the roof. I probably could have squeezed in 2–3 more panels, but Ryan saved me from overspending since I was already at 120% offset. Thanks to my house layout, all panels sit on the garage and covered patio, meaning if a roof leak ever did occur, it wouldn’t affect the main living space. WE Energies’ new bi-directional meter also simplified the install and gave the system a clean, integrated look.

Post-Install Service:
Home Team is proactive about setting customers up for success in every facet. After my first month of production, WE Energies billed me correctly. In the second month, WE Energies made a mistake, but Ryan and Brian stepped in big time. They went above and beyond, coaching me through the best way to get resolution from y energy provider.

Final Thoughts:
If you’re considering solar, I couldn’t recommend Home Team Energy more highly. They truly care about their customers and make the entire experience stress-free and beneficial. Since you made it this far in my review, here’s my own sales pitch: Home Team offers a referral bonus. If this review helped you, I’d be happy to split it with you, just mention my name when you contact them or reach out to me to connect!

If anyone is looking to not only to go Solar, but need electrical servicing/installation, CALL “Home Team!” I just had Stefan and Josh here to install my EV charger, and they did a great job! Very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable(answered all my question’s). Next, just waiting on “We Energies” so we can upgrade my 100amp panel(breaker box)to a 200amp. The owner, Ryan, and the help of Brian dealing with We Energies, etc…made all this such an easy, stress free process! “Home Team Energy” is the real deal, get a quote and find out for yourself if you’re looking to go Solar, or upgrade your home. Competitive pricing, and when it comes to brass tax/quality, let’s be real, that’s what we’re all looking for when hiring a company to work on our home. Looking forward to my electrical upgrade! Once all is installed, when WE Energies can do their part, I’ll be posting photo’s. Again, special thanks to Ryan and the team that made this a fun experience(Brian, Stephan and Josh)at “Home Team Energy”!!!

Update: We Energies finally did their part! Here are the pic’s of my 200amp upgrade/EV charging outlet(LVL 2)! Now next stage…Solar! Wouldn’t hire anyone but “Home Team” for the task!
